Club Mahindra Corbett Tiger Reserve

The Ramnagar road leading to the Dhikala entry gate of Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR) hosts a lot of resorts for tourists to stay. We chose Club Mahindra and here is why –

  1. The location is the best for making maximum out of CTR. It is close enough to Bijrani gate (the one where most tiger sightings occur) as well as Dikhala’s entry gate (the one from where you get to 35km deeper into Corbett). The resort is situated on the banks of river Ramganga, and it is not uncommon to see or hear Elephants on the other bank. The cold waters are resplendent with Trout to fish.
  2. It has excellent amenities – a large swimming pool, many recreational things including quad biking to take care of the entire family, an extremely tasty food serving restaurant, ample parking and a shop. The real plus is that it has its own private access to the river flowing at its back. View from those rooms is majestic.
  3. Typical CMH standards apply. Well kept and spacious rooms with large glass windows and sit-outs. Good food quality, a spa and typical well-mannered CMH hospitality from the staff.

I didn’t think their travel desk was very responsive and affordable. They were on the higher side of expenses and a bit cold. It is easier to do your own arrangements for safari permits online and then negotiate with countless jeep drivers for the best experience, than go with their travel desk. We experienced both sides and found ‘Do it yourself (DIY)’ better.
