At about 1 km from the temple is a waterfall, accessible only by walking. Enjoy the serenity of the waterfall, listen to the melodies created by nature, with sips of tea which along with other small refreshments can be bought at tiny makeshift shops along the way to the waterfall.

The monastery currently houses around 200 Tibetan monks, who help preserve the monastery’s ancient rituals, artistic skills and traditions.

A visit to Dharmashala is incomplete without the visit to Dal Lake, named after the lake in Kashmir, its panoramic views and serenity are unparalleled. The lake offers boat rides and fishing can be arranged with permission from concerned authorities. It is also the starting point of a hiking trail and is a pass-through for many others.
