We are talking about trek at Chadar, heaven to all mountain lovers! This trek allows you to get to know the Zankari culture up close through the locals you meet on the trek and experience their hospitality. One of the highlights of the Zanskar frozen river trek is the most magnificent waterfall frozen completely from top to bottom called Nerak waterfall. The best time for Chadar trek is from mid-January to mid-February, that is when the Zanskar river freezes and you get to walk on massive slabs of ice spreading for miles and miles. The landscapes and overall experience will leave their imprints on your hearts forever. When it comes to trekking In India, Chadar is the most glamorous trek. Come and tick one thing off your bucket list.

It is always recommended to be aware of the ice conditions at all times. There are several factors to consider ensuring a safe journey. Most of these factors involve the conditions of the ice and the footing choices of the trekker. Warm and layered clothes are recommended as is being on the move as much as possible. These help invariably in keeping the body warm and prevent cold sores and also keep the blood from freezing.
Arrive at Leh by air and our representative will be waiting for you at the exit. We will check in at the hotel booked for you. Keeping in mind the health problems that trekkers face,today we will Leh to get our body fully acclimatize to the weather conditions.

On this day, we’ll be headed to the first campsite which is Tsomo Paldar via Chilling & Tilad do. It is one of the most scenic drives which will let us witness some of the top spots in Ladakh.
An hour and a half drive along the Zanskar will take us right where the road ends, this will be our starting point of walking on the Zanskar.After an hour and half of slipping, falling and trying to gather our balance we’ll be reaching our first campsite at Tsomo Paldar. This will be our first experience of camping under sub-zero temperatures.

Slowly but gradually from Tsomo Paldar to Tibb Cave, we will be gaining an altitude of 400ft.
After breakfast, we will start our trek for today. Lunch will be served on midway to Tibb Cave. After walking for a couple of hours we wil reach our today’s camping destination. This trek route has some of the most eye-catching frozen waterfalls that we’ll see. We will be camping near the Tibb Cave which is surrounded by dry sand.

Post breakfast we will start our trek.
Today we will go from Tibb Cave to Gyalpo which is about 13 Kms in distance. Today’s walk through the deep ravines of the Zanskar will be stunning. This Trek is an experience of a lifetime that every trekking enthusiast should witness.

We will reach Leh in the evening and with this our trek comes to end.

Post breakfast, leave to Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh, for the flight back home.
