Peru is the most unique location to travel to yet it is in every traveller’s bucket list. A 15th century Inca citadel, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru, on a 2,430-metre (7,970 ft) mountain ridge, Machu Picchu is civilization the Incas built the estate around 1450 but abandoned it a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest.
With nightly sound-and-light shows that illuminate the buildings’ sophisticated geometry, Chichen Itza in Mexico, however, is more famous for the large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. It displays a variety of architectural styles at the site. Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico with over 2.6 million tourists in 2017.
Combined together, one cannot just help but marvel at the legacies of the ancient beliefs of the both the Mayans and the Incans.

After breakfast, we will be visiting the Cathedral which dates back to 1654 as well as the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital of the Incas and you will further transported to your hotel.
Upon your arrival, you will be provided a guided tour of Cuzco including the Cathedral, Qoricancha temple, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco, Qenko and Puka Pukara. This will also allow you to acclimate to higher altitude.

A quick breakfast after which we have a Full-day excursion organized to the beautiful Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, situated between Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It is an exceptionally fertile valley that was and remains the larder of Cuzco. After lunch, a visit to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town that was not defeated by the Spanish with an opportunity to explore the ruins which tower above. While we return to Cuzco, we will en-route to the traditional market of Chinchero.
Return to hotel.

With a good night’s sleep, we will be boarding the train to Aguas Calientes . Upon arrival, we have to board a bus for the short ride up to Machu Picchu, the ancient Inca citadel, followed up by the check in at the hotel. Shortly after, we will provide a guided tour of Machu Picchu, the most spectacular ancient city in the world. Built by the Inca Pachacutec, and comprising stone blocks fitted with masterful precision, Machu Picchu harmoniously blends into the mountain landscape. There are many theories as to the origins behind Machu Picchu but three of the most popular ideas include a temple to the sun, a fortress against the jungle inhabitants or a sanctuary for the Incas.

Today is the time for some private reflection before returning for breakfast. No guide will be provided as we feel that Machu Picchu requires a certain amount of self discovery to be fully understood. Take any of the several paths around various parts of the site (we will provide a map to help you), trek up to Wayna Picchu or walk down to the Inca’s bridge.

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for the return flight to Lima. Next, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight to Cancun.

The city was founded on a Mayan settlement. You will visit a cenote where you will take the trail down to the water´s edge and visit the fabulous cave with its stalactites and hanging vines.
After the visit, continue on to the monastery of San Bernardino de Siena founded in 1552 and the main square which is home to a thriving market for Yucatecan dresses. On the east side of the plaza is the attractive municipal building, El Ayuntamiento. A visit to the nearby archaeological site of Ek Balam is added as well. At the height of its importance as a city during the Late Classic period (600-900 AD), the Mayans abandoned the site resulting in the dense low-lying jungle engulfed it.

We will depart to the Chichen Itza, its name means that “at the mouth of the well of Itza” and is home to the Kukulkan Pyramid, also known as “El Castillo” (the castle), now one of the new seven wonders of the world. We will continue on foot with our guide and arrive before the crowds and enjoy a tour of this magnificent archaeological site built by the Maya civilization between the 9th and 12th centuries.
