Today embark on a drive to view the two spectacular wineries of Cape Peninsula- Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
Franschhoek- Dutch for “French Corner”; saw many of the colonial settlers naming their new farms after the areas in France from which they came.[3] La Motte, Champagne, La Cotte, Cabrière, La Provence, Bourgogne, La Terra de Luc and La Dauphine were among some of the first established farms — most of which still retain their original Cape Dutch farm houses today. These farms have grown into renowned wonderful wineries.
The Stellenbosch, South African wine industry produces about 1,000,000,000 litres of wine annually. Stellenbosch is the primary location for viticulture and viticulture research. Drive on the Scenic Stellenbosch American Expressway or the Stellenbosch Wine Route established in 1971 by Frans Malan from Simonsig, Spatz Sperling from Delheim and Neil Joubert from Spier, while sipping the Cabernet Sauvigon- the city’s unsurpassed product.
