A landscape that supports vibrant and diverse flora and fauna.
Pench is an abode to a number of endangered species. Tigers, leopard, wolf, jungle cat, dhol (Indian wild dog), hyena and jackal are the wild animals found here. Chital, sambhar, muntjac, gaur, wild boar, langur and rhesus macaques have also made this jungle their home.
The area of the present tiger reserve has a glorious history. A description of its natural wealth and richness occurs in Ain-i-Akbari. Pench Tiger Reserve and its neighbourhood is the original setting of Rudyard Kipling’s most famous work, The Jungle Book. Come back for an overnight stay.
