Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska

Anchorage is one of the most easily accessible cities of Alaska. Enjoy the rustic blend of art and nature while you settle in your lodgings for the day. Give yourselves a proper rest and be prepared for the chilled yet astounding landscape viewing.

Day 2Trekking in and around Anchorage

With the scenic Chugach Ranges in the Chugach National Park next-door, you don’t need to travel far in search of good treks and walks. You can also dip your toes in the cold waters of Lake goose while listening to the calls of Magpies.

Anchorage also hosts numerous museums that would help you to connect with the rich culture, art as well as flora and fauna before you go further ahead.

Day 3Picturesque Journey to Denali

Armed with a rental Vehicle of choice head towards the wilderness but not without making a detour of Fishhooks- a small town situated in the valley of Matanuska River. Camp here for the evening near little Susitna River for fishing experience and star gaze in the rural fields.

Day 4Charms of Talkeetna: laid back abode of Mountain climbers

Next day start early for Talkeetna- a stop midway between Denali National Park and Anchorage.

Refill your backpack with all the necessities for your journey ahead. You explore the ever mushrooming gift stall, equipment stores and have look at the native handmade crafts.

After replenishing yourself at Talkeetna, continue on to reach Denali National Park Road.

Make yourself comfortable at your bed and breakfast located near the park entrance and give yourself a well-deserved break after more than six hours of a road trip.

Day 5Denali National Park: Healy Trail

This trail starts of pretty easy with less steep hiking through the forest beginning from New Murie Science Center; however the transition to tundra zone is observable as trees gave way to shrub.

This 6 mile trail ends at the summit of Mount Healy and behold upon the beauty of the Healy ridge and the majestic Nenana river valley.

Day 6Denali National Park: Camping and animal watching

After a day filled with Trekking connect with other travellers to share stories on Igloo Creek campgrounds. Also, be ready with your Binoculars to spot various birds and bears live. You can also have a meet and greet with the Moose and Dally Sheeps here!

In the evening gather your luggage and aboard the Northbound Denali Star for a train ride to Fairbanks. The spellbinding view of the Alaska Range and curves of Nenana Valley will give you a good opportunity to say goodbye to the green landscape.

Day 7Aurora Borealis in Fairbanks

During the day get the feel of gold rush while visiting the gold mines and view the river bed of Fairbanks.

Stay overnight in Fairbanks to lay eyes on one of the natural wonders of the world the Northern Lights for the true Artic Alaskan landscape experience.

Day 8Reaching Seaward via North Pole and Valdez

Before leaving Fairbanks region, make sure to pause at the North Pole, the name sake of the fictional town that hosts the Santa Claus’s House.

After around eight hours of Road journey while enjoying the scenic drive with small creeks, waterfalls etc. have a stop at Valdez a coastal city and port. Enjoy the fresh delicious seafood here after a rigorous Road Trip and then take the Whittier ferry to Whittier and finally to Seward.

Enjoy the ferry ride in the ice-cold Fjord waters filled not only with melting Glaciers but also with Otters, Orcas etc.

Day 9Kenai Fjords, Seward

Spend the day cruising along the resurrection bay with a spectacular view of the Kenai Fjords and also having a look out for the Grey Whale that frequently visits here.

Also, Observe the Glacial waters of the bay as chunks of ice slide away drop down to the ocean deeps. This thrilling exploration will leave you and your spine chilled.

End your Day with paddling and kayaking along the shoreline of the beautiful beaches.

Day 10Flight seeing the Fjords and back to Anchorage

Next up on your sightseeing list to is discover astonishing aerial view of the glaciers and Fjord along with the Chugach Mountains.

Also you can go on a dog sledge ride around the National Park while bird watching

After these thrill rides, board on the Coastal Classic train back to Anchorage.
