Kedarnath and Badrinath dating back to the ancient times are the most holy sites for hindu pilgrims. Thousands of pilgrims travel to these destination to achieve to blessings of the divine and gain spiritual insight about self through exploration. Located in the Himalayas , about 3,583 m (11,755 ft) above sea level near Chorabari Glacier, the head of river Mandakini, Kedarnath is a pilgrimage center where the air appears to be reverberating with the name of Lord Shiva amid the mighty snow-clad peaks, enchanting meadows and forests of the lower mountain range of Himalayas. A mythological account ascribes the temple’s construction to the legendary Pandava brothers mentioned in the Mahabharata. Kedarnath temple is one of the 12 Jyotir Lingams and is also the most important temple among the Panch Kedars.
More commonly known as the Do-Dham Yatra but most sacred to all the hindus and Badrinath, having significance to the Jains, as well, these religious destinations witness thousands of devouts every year. En-route, we will make a stop at Guptakashi for sightseeing and continue towards Badrinath.
