Bolivia the most elevated and landlocked country of South America, is aptly called “Tibet of the Americas”. Named after the Venezuelan Leader of Spanish American wars- Simon Bolivar, Bolivia hosts a varied landscape that includes- Andes Mountain Range, Amazon Rainforest, Panatal Wetlands and Atacama Desert. However it’s most unique feature rests in the Salar de Uyuni that lies at the crux of Peru, Chile and Bolivia borders.
Salar de Uyuni, amidst the Andes in southwest Bolivia, is the world’s largest salt flat. This is the legacy of a prehistoric lake that went dry, leaving behind a desert like, landscape of bright-white salt and cacti-studded islands. Its otherworldly expanse can be observed from central Incahuasi Island. Wildlife is rare in this unique ecosystem; it is an abode of many pink flamingos (Especially ideal for the Breeding of Rare James Flamingos).
