Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa

“Awesome in Queenstown, however a bit far from the center”

A business vacation took us to the Hilton. Very close from the airport, set out overlooking the river, the Hotel is a charming place from the riverfront (the front facade and the lobby though doesn’t really give you a warm feeling).

Locationally, it’s a bit off Queenstown. The city center is a 15 min drive or a 10 min boat ride. As most of Queenstown charms are neatly tucked within walking distances at the city center, you would be jetting in an out a lot if you stay at the Hilton. However, it’s bang on the way for a drive to Milford Sound.

The room was excellent, modern decor and well organized for warmth. Nice and large bathrooms. It also had an indoor swimming pool. All Hilton checks done. Staff courteous (found a many Indians than I thought I would, and Hindi was accepted with aplomb); nice food. All through, you would get the feel though that it’s not a touristy hotel (compare it some of the dwellings in Te Anau and you will see what I mean).

Great place, but I would choose a city center hotel for my next visit to Queenstown. Will I come back to Queenstown – Ofcourse Yes!

Room Tip: Look for the river facing rooms on the higher floors.
